You might ask yourself, how did two middle-aged women come up with this idea? Well, that can be either pretty complicated or fairly simple, depending on your viewpoint. Let me explain and then make up your own mind.
In 2001, I was diagnosed with cancer. After chemo and radiation treatments, I was feeling pretty good. Going to work every day, taking my dog to training classes, etc. In 2003, it came back. This time, my only option was intense chemo treatments. If it hadn't been for my sister taking care of me on my bad days and my dog forcing me to take him for walks, I would have wallowed in my own self-pity. That was six years ago. SO FAR..SO GOOD!
In 2006, my sister was diagnosed with cancer. She too had chemo, radiation, and a complete hysterectomy. SO FAR...SO GOOD!
Needless to say, the two of us sat down and took stock of what our lives had been, what we had lived through and what we wanted to do with our future. That's when we decided to live life as fully as possible and see what we might miss if we are content to live as we always have.
I started doing some research and realized it would be possible to sell everything, buy an rv and hit the road. Oh, don't get me wrong. It's going to take a lot more research and planning, but each day the dream becomes a bit more real. As the days and weeks go by, you will learn what I've found out during my research, what roadblocks we have had to meet and overcome, and when we plan to make the final "cut".
